Dr. Volker Stein

Dr. Volker Stein
received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 1970. After a short associateship, Dr. Stein set up his own general practice in Newmarket and was joined in 1972 by Dr. Taylor. During the first 10 years of practice he was active in the local and provincial Dental Society executives. He was a surgical staff member at Southlake Regional Health Centre for 20 years, the last five as chief of Dental Services, department surgery. In 1991 his creative energies were directed to the invention and patenting of the "Omni-Matrix" a disposable retainer used by dentists to help contain and form fillings. The Matrix is sold worldwide. Dr. Stein regularly attends conventions and continuing education courses thereby maintaining an updated practice philosophy. Dr. Stein lives in Aurora with his wife Oksana. He has two sons, Alexander and Christian. He enjoys golfing, skiing and reading during leisure time.
Dr. Paul Taylor


Born and raised in Toronto, Dr. Taylor followed a Chemistry major to the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto.  Graduating in 1972, he followed his family roots to Newmarket and joined Dr. Stein in general practice.  Since then he has served on the dental staff at Southlake Regional Hospital, and York Region Dental Society where he worked through the executive committee to the position of president.  Dr. Taylor actively pursues continuing education in all aspects of the rapidly evolving science and practice of dentistry. He is on the Executive Board of "The Survivors", a prostate cancer foundation that holds a yearly charity event hosted by the Summit golf course.    Dr. Taylor resides in Sharon with his wife Judi and has two children, Jamie and Kristen.  Kristen is also a dentist in Kingston. In his leisure time, Dr. Taylor is an avid golfer and also enjoys skiing and researching his family's geneology.

Dr. Nick Pekaruk

Dr. Nick Pekaruk was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at McMaster University, he went on to receive his dental degree from Boston University in 2008, and has been working in the private practice setting ever since. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and patients of all ages – especially kids! In his spare time he enjoys many sports, such as soccer and basketball, and playing guitar.
